Deadwing — восьмой студийный альбом группы Porcupine Tree, был выпущен 28 марта 2005 года. Он оказался самым продаваемым альбомом группы на тот период. Альбом основан на сценарии, написанном Стивеном Уилсоном и Майком Беннионом, и это своего рода история призрака. В альбоме прослеживается повествование, что дало повод многим поклонникам отнести пластинку к разряду концептуальных. Уилсон дал понять, что в будущем хотел бы снять фильм, основанный на сценарии, легшем в основу альбома. Все песни были написаны Стивеном, за исключением Halo, Glass Arm Shattering (Wilson/Barbieri/Edwin/Harrison) и Start of Something Beautiful (Wilson/Harrison). В записи альбома принимали участие Эдриан Белью из King Crimson (он сыграл на гитаре в треках 1 и 4), и Микаэль Окерфельдт из Opeth (бэк-вокал в треках 1, 3 и 5, второе гитарное соло в треке 5).
