The Loss

I changed my clothes for the first time in a month today,

Walk around, and it's feeling like a holiday.

You're still crying and I'm OK,

But I'm not any stronger than you.

I rode my bike for a while, now I prefer to walk,

Come on take a stroll and then maybe we'll talk,

Please spare me the awkward conversation,

Because I know you better than that.



We all see ourselves reflected in each others eyes,

And we try and make changes, look away,

We swim on in a sea of expectations.

And if you can't remember the last time you felt OK,

Come on take a look in the mirror and you'll see,

How behind all the layers there's everything you wanted there
